The photographs below were developed over the past two years and contain a theme of silence in order to present my internal battles with depression. The majority of this work has been created in my rural hometown of Florida, Massachusetts. At first, I used the location for its convenience; it was easier to make pictures in the familiar landscape with a close friend, versus venturing out into Boston by myself. However, I soon noticed a common theme of emptiness. I felt connected to each moment as they were ones I had experienced countless times, and they were all void of people. I was well aware that my hometown was physically secluded, but I then realized just how much I had become emotionally secluded during the pandemic.
